Stainless Steel
- Clean regularly: Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing. For a deeper clean, use warm water and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
- Avoid chemicals: Keep away from harsh chemicals like chlorine and bleach. Remove jewellery before swimming in pools or hot tubs.
- Store properly: When not waring your jewellery, store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Ideally, store each piece separately in a soft pouch or cloth to prevent scratching and tarnishing.
- Prevent impact: Avoid waring during activities that could cause heavy impact or scratches.
Brass &/or Sterling Silver
- (Sterling Silver only) Wear regularly: Believe it or not, wearing your sterling silver jewellery actually helps prevent tarnish buildup. The oils in your skin can help keep the metal shiny.
- (Sterling Silver and Brass) Clean gently: Clean your jewellery regularly to remove oils, dirt, and tarnish. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the surface. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution (or in case of sterling silver jewellery, a specialised silver cleaning solution). Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can damage the metal.
- (Sterling Silver and Brass) Avoid exposure to chemicals: Chemicals found in household cleaners, perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cosmetics can all cause tarnishing and damage to sterling silver. Remove your jewellery before using these products to prevent chemical reactions.
The simple trick is to start wearing jewellery after you've finished dressing up.
